Evaluation of calibrated passive sampling for quantifying ammonia emissions in multi‐plot field trials with slurry application

چکیده

Background There is a great need for simple and inexpensive methods to quantify ammonia emissions in multi-plot field trials. However, that meet these criteria have be thoroughly validated. In the calibrated passive sampling approach, acid traps placed center of quadratic plots absorb ammonia, enabling relative comparisons between plots. To emissions, trap samplings are scaled by means transfer coefficient (TC) obtained from simultaneous measurements with dynamic tube method (DTM). also comparatively costly time-consuming. Slurry Application Techniques to reduce Ammonia Emissions: Results of some UK Field-scale Experiments

Shallow injection, trailing shoe and band spreading machines were evaluated, in terms of their potential for reducing ammonia (NH3) emission, by making measurements after application and in direct comparison with surface broadcast applied cattle slurry (pig slurry on one occasion). Several sets of comparative measurements were made with each type of machine on both grassland and arable land (mo...

Ammonia emissions from pig and cattle slurry in the field and utilization of slurry nitrogen in crop production Doctoral Dissertation

Volatilization of ammonia (NH3) from animal manure is a major pathway for nitrogen (N) losses that cause eutrophication, acidification, and other environmental hazards. In this study, the effect of alternative techniques of manure treatment (aeration, separation, addition of peat) and application (broadcast spreading, band spreading, injection, incorporation by harrowing) on NH3 emissions in th...
